Backend development services and API development

Backend development on Laravel: the server side, a database and a REST API for your website, front end or mobile app. We design the architecture, write the business logic and authentication, document the API and deploy to your server.

Who it is for

Who needs backend development

  • An app or a front end without a backend

The interface exists already, or another team is building it — it needs a server side and an API to work with.

  • A team without a backend developer

You have a designer and a front end but no backend: we take the server side on and work alongside your team.

  • An old backend that needs rewriting

The code is hard to maintain and extend: we study what there is and move the logic and data to a new architecture in stages.

What is included

What the development includes

  • Architecture

We work through the scenarios, entities and load, and design the structure of the server side and the API before development starts.

  • Database

A data schema in MySQL or PostgreSQL, migrations, indexes and backups.

  • REST API

Endpoints for a website, a front end or a mobile app: one format of responses and errors, API versions.

  • Authentication and roles

Sign-in with a password or an emailed code, with Google and Apple, access tokens and rights for every role.

  • Integrations

Payment services, a CRM, email and SMS, file storage — connected through their APIs.

  • Background jobs

Queues and a schedule for heavy operations: mailings, file processing, synchronisation with other systems.

  • API documentation

The endpoints documented in the OpenAPI (Swagger) format: your team does not have to read the code.

  • Deployment

We deploy to your server or hosting; the code is in your Git repository and every access is handed over to you.

Process

From the brief to the launch in four steps

  1. 01

    Brief and architecture

We work out who will use the API and what it has to do. The list of capabilities, the price and the timeline go into the contract.

  2. 02

    Database and API

We design the data schema and write the endpoints. The API documentation is kept up with the code, so your team connects without waiting for the end of development.

  3. 03

    Integrations and testing

We connect the external services and check the scenarios together with your front end or app.

  4. 04

    Launch

We deploy to your server or hosting and hand over the access. The usual timeline is 3–8 weeks; after that we extend the API as needed.

Case studies

How it went on real projects

The task, the solution and the result: what exactly we did and what came of it.

All cases
  • Workshop inventory app on a laptop screen: the parts table with search by meaning, next to a photo of a board
    Electronics and prototyping workshop

Workshop: an inventory app with AI agents, search by meaning and an MCP server

Task Keep everything the workshop holds in one place: parts and stock, documents, equipment, projects. And fill it in by voice and photo rather than with forms.

What we did A Laravel and React app where every record has an internal code and search works by meaning. The in-app chat and external agents use the same tools, and permissions are checked on every call.

Result The app already holds 141 parts, 235 photos described by AI and 538 vectors, and agents made 86 changes over the past week. We use it ourselves, and it is genuinely convenient.

What our clients say about us

We’re confident that after working with us you’ll leave a positive review here too.

This is where it all started. Since then we've ordered two more websites here and never even looked for another developer. Every time the work is done well and on time. I recommend them to colleagues.

We came back a second time, now with the chamber's own website. I didn't have to explain anything from scratch: they remembered how we work and suggested better options themselves. And regular clients get a discount too.

I expected it to be like other companies, where you wait days for a reply. Instead, they're always available and always get back to me. Even in the evenings and on weekends, which I really appreciated.

Daria Zyu Daria Zyu Online store of Ukrainian-made goods, Nikopol

ATIS atis-shop.com.ua

I paid exactly what they quoted at the start. When I asked them mid-project to add a page with my students' results, they named the price first and only then did it. No "that wasn't included" at the end. Others never worked that way.

Two days after launch, inquiries from the contact form stopped coming in. I wrote to them on a Saturday, and it was fixed by lunch. The problem was with the hosting, but no one said "that's not on us." They just sorted it out.

I know nothing about websites. They explained everything in plain language, no jargon. Before handing the site over, they showed me how to change the text and photos myself and recorded a video. Now I update everything on my own. Thank you for your patience.

The site went live a year ago, and I still message them about small things: adding partners, posting photos from the celebration. They answer as if they'd delivered it yesterday. Not once have I heard that the contract has ended.

We needed the site before the season started, and the deadline was tight. They promised four weeks and delivered in three and a half. I never had to chase them. Every week they told me what was done. We started the season with the site already live.

Our old website brought in one or two inquiries a month. Three months after the new one launched, we get eight to ten, with no ads. We're now on Google's first page for the searches that matter. The site finally pays for itself.

Frequently asked questions about backend and API development

Answers about what a backend is, whether we build one for mobile apps, what the price includes and how long development takes. Did not find yours? Write to us.

What is a backend, and why do we need an API?

A backend is the server side of a product: the database, the business logic, authentication and integrations. An API is the door to it: through the API a website, a front end or a mobile app reads and saves data. Without a backend a product has no accounts, no shared data across devices and no payments.

Do you build a backend for a mobile app?

Yes. If the app exists already or another team is building it, we develop the server side and a REST API for it: accounts, data, notifications, payments. And if you need the app itself as well, that is mobile app development: the server side is then part of the project.

What does the price of development include?

From ₴40,000: the architecture, the database, a REST API with authentication, the API documentation in the OpenAPI format and deployment to your server. Automated tests of the key scenarios are a task of their own, by agreement. The exact price depends on the number of endpoints, roles and integrations and is fixed in the contract after the brief.

How long does backend development take?

Usually 3–8 weeks, depending on the number of endpoints, roles and integrations. We name the exact timeline after the brief and fix it in the contract.

What if we also need an interface and an admin panel?

Then it is no longer only a backend but a whole product: user accounts, an admin panel and an interface together with the server side. That is a service of its own — web application development.

Can you rewrite an old backend?

Yes. First we study what there is: the code, the database, the integrations. Then we move the logic to a new architecture in stages and migrate the data, keeping the API compatible where possible so that the front end or the app need not be rewritten. When the work is done, the code and the access are yours.

Shall we discuss your backend and API?

Tell us what interface or app you have and what the server side has to do — we will suggest an architecture and name the cost and the timeline. No obligation.
